This is a project hosted by Rootsweb to transcribe the index of all births, marriages and deaths in England (including Wales but not Scotland or Ireland). At present the project is concentrating on the period of 1837 to 1903, but some entries more recent than this have been transcribed and are included.

English Census RecordsBirth, Marriage and Death Index
In addition to the English Birth, Marriage and Death index described above, the same group is working on the English census (which includes Scotland, and Wales, but not Ireland) for five of the six census's that have taken place between 1841 and 1891 (1881 is not included as it has already been done by the LDS, and is available to everyone). Although records on this site are very limited at the present time, what has been completed is searchable.
